About

Specific Irrelevant Details is a powerful micro short film brought to life from a poem written by eight-year-old Kamil de Chickera, who urges the world to look past the labels that divide us — race, religion, gender, age, and ability — and see the whole person instead.

In a truly global collaboration spanning Kenya, Syria, Sweden, France, and beyond, refugee filmmakers and award-winning creatives joined forces to give the poem its visual voice, ensuring that the stories of marginalized communities were told by those who lived them. The result is a moving, beautifully crafted film that reminds us, through the clarity of a child's perspective, what really matters.

A young girl in a rainbow-striped sweater stands among bare winter trees, looking off to one side.
A performer in a white sequined bodysuit holds a length of white fabric billowing overhead against a bright sky and distant hills.
A large flock of birds flies across a bright blue sky streaked with thin clouds.
A woman in a dark metallic outfit with a pink feather trim raises her arms and looks up against a plain sky.
A woman wrapped in a mustard-yellow shawl looks toward the camera against a pink sunset sky over distant hills and water.
The same young girl in the rainbow-striped sweater smiles while climbing among tree branches in a forest.
A double-exposed portrait of a young person in a patterned shirt, seated in a dark theatre, with a hand-drawn magenta circle highlighting one face.
A close-up profile of an elderly man in a straw hat looking upward against a hazy blue mountain backdrop.
